WEEKLY DEVOTION

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.” — Ephesians 1:7

The blood of Jesus Christ stands at the very center of the Christian faith. From the beginning of Scripture, God revealed that sin brings death and that forgiveness requires the shedding of blood (Hebrews 9:22). In the Old Testament, sacrifices were offered again and again to temporarily cover sin. But these sacrifices pointed forward to something greater.

Jesus Christ came as the perfect and final sacrifice. When He shed His blood on the cross, He accomplished what no animal sacrifice ever could. His blood was given to pay the price for our sin, bringing redemption to those who believe in Him. Through His blood we are forgiven, cleansed, and restored into a right relationship with God.

The blood of Christ does more than forgive—it cleanses our conscience (Hebrews 9:14), brings us near to God (Ephesians 2:13), and secures our eternal salvation (Hebrews 9:12). What once separated us from God has been removed by the sacrifice of His Son.

Because of the blood of Jesus, we no longer live in condemnation but in grace. Every time we reflect on the cross, we are reminded of God’s great love and the price that was paid for our redemption.

Today, take a moment to thank Christ for His sacrifice. The blood He shed was not in vain—it was poured out so that we might have forgiveness, new life, and eternal hope.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for shedding Your blood for my sins. Help me never take Your sacrifice for granted. Let my life reflect gratitude, obedience, and love for the grace You have given me. Amen
