Making Diciples

Matthew 28:19–20
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”
Jesus did not simply tell His followers to make converts. He commanded them to make disciples. A disciple is someone who not only believes in Jesus but learns to follow Him, obey His Word, and live like Him.
Making disciples begins with relationships. We don’t have to stand behind a pulpit to make disciples. We make disciples when we encourage someone in their faith, study God’s Word with them, pray with them, teach them what Jesus has taught us, and help them take their next step toward Christ.
Think about a relay race. A runner’s job is not simply to run the race but to pass the baton to the next runner. As Christians, we have received the gospel from others, and now we have the privilege and responsibility of passing it on.
The church grows stronger when believers stop asking, “Who is discipling me?” and begin asking, “Who am I discipling?”
Someone is watching your faith. Someone needs your encouragement. Someone needs to hear what Jesus has done in your life.
Today, ask God to put one person on your heart whom you can encourage, teach, pray with, and help grow closer to Jesus.
Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for those who have helped me grow in my faith. Help me now to invest in others. Give me opportunities to share Your Word, demonstrate Your love, and help others become faithful followers of Jesus. Amen.”
