WEEKLY DEVOTION

Daniel 4:35 (ESV) – “All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, ‘What have you done?’”

The sovereignty of God means that He is in complete control of all things—past, present, and future. Nothing surprises Him, nothing stops His purposes, and no one can overturn His plans. This truth brings comfort and humility. In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, God’s sovereignty is our anchor. Like Nebuchadnezzar learned the hard way in Daniel 4, God’s rule is supreme, and His wisdom is far beyond ours.

When life seems unfair or confusing, we can rest in knowing that God’s hand is still at work. He sees the full picture, and He is always moving according to His perfect will. Trusting in His sovereignty doesn’t mean we will always understand His ways, but it does mean we can have peace in His purposes.

Prayer:

Sovereign Lord, thank You for ruling with wisdom, power, and love. Help us to trust You even when we don’t understand what You’re doing. Remind us that Your ways are higher than ours, and Your plans are always good. Amen.
