Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27 (NIV)
In a world full of noise, deadlines, and constant uncertainty, peace often feels out of reach. We chase it in relationships, careers, or distractions—but the peace the world offers is fragile and fleeting. Jesus, however, gives us a peace that is deeper, stronger, and lasting. It is His peace—unshaken by storms and untouched by circumstances.
When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples, He was preparing them for His departure. He knew fear would try to grip their hearts. But He offered them a promise: “My peace I give you.” This wasn’t a wish or a vague encouragement. It was a gift—a peace rooted in His presence, secured by His love, and sustained by His Spirit.
This peace doesn’t mean the absence of problems. It means the presence of Christ in the midst of them. It guards our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7), anchors our souls in turbulent times, and enables us to live without fear.
Today, whatever you’re facing, receive the peace of Christ. Let it still your anxious thoughts, calm your spirit, and remind you that you are never alone.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the gift of Your peace. In the chaos of life, help us to rest in Your presence and trust in Your promises. Quiet our fears and fill us with Your calm. We receive Your peace today—deeper than our circumstances, stronger than our doubts. Amen.
